More Than Just a Passport.

Becoming a British citizen is the ultimate goal for many of our clients. It grants you the right to vote, the right to hold public office, and—most importantly—absolute security. You can leave the UK for as long as you like and always return.

While it may seem like a formality after Settlement, the Home Office still refuses thousands of applications every year due to 'Good Character' issues or miscalculated residency dates. We ensure your application is flawless so you can plan your celebration.

You've come this far. Let’s make sure the final application is the easiest one.

The Three Routes

1. Naturalisation (Adults)

For those who have held Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) for at least 12 months (or immediately if married to a British citizen). We handle the AN form, referee selection, and residency calculations.

2. Registration (Children)

Children born in the UK do not automatically become British. If you have recently settled, your child may now be eligible to register as British (Form MN1). We also handle complex claims for children born abroad to British parents.

3. Complex Claims (Ancestry)

Did you know you might already be British? We specialize in historical claims involving 'Double Descent' (grandparents), the Romein judgement, and mothers who could not pass on citizenship before 1983.

Mastering "Good Character."

his is the most common reason for refusal in citizenship cases. The Home Office looks at your entire history—not just in the UK, but globally.

A simple speeding ticket, a forgotten bankruptcy, a caution from 10 years ago, or even a 'debt to the NHS' can trigger a refusal. We conduct a 'Good Character Audit' before we apply. We know exactly what must be disclosed and how to draft legal representations to mitigate past mistakes, ensuring they don't block your future.

The Requirements Checklist

1. The "Referees"

You must provide two referees who know you personally. One must be a professional (e.g., accountant, doctor), and the other must be a British citizen. We verify your choices to ensure they meet the strict Home Office list.

2. The 90-Day Rule

Strictly, you should not have been absent for more than 90 days in the final 12 months before applying. If you have exceeded this, we can argue for discretion based on the specific nature of your absences.

3. Life in the UK & English

If you passed these for your ILR, you generally don't need to sit them again. We check your previous certificates to ensure they are still valid for this application.

Your Roadmap to the Ceremony

We partner with you for the long haul, tracking your absences and eligibility dates so you never miss a deadline.

  • We collate your travel history, referee signatures, and 'Good Character' evidence.

  • We submit your Form AN or MN1 online and book your biometric appointment (fingerprints).

  • Processing usually takes 3-6 months. Once approved, you receive an invitation letter.

  • You attend your local town hall to swear the Oath of Allegiance and receive your Certificate of Naturalisation. You are now British.

 FAQs

  • The UK allows dual citizenship, so you can keep your original passport. However, you must check if your home country allows it (e.g., India and China generally do not).

  • Yes. Unlike visa applications, you retain your passport and can travel freely while your citizenship application is processing.

  • No. If you are married to a British citizen, you can apply for Naturalisation immediately after receiving your ILR. You do not need to wait the usual 12-month 'freedom from immigration time limits' period.

  • Not automatically. They are only British if one parent was British or 'Settled' (had ILR) at the time of birth. If you obtained ILR after they were born, you must apply to 'Register' them (Form MN1).
